Getting a document notarized online is easier than most people expect — but a little prep makes the session go smoothly. Here’s your checklist:
1.
A valid government photo ID. You’ll show it on camera so your identity can be verified — a driver’s license or passport works.
2.
Your document, unsigned. Don’t sign it ahead of time — you sign during the session, on camera.
3.
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone. That’s your whole office for the session.
4.
A quiet, well-lit spot. Good lighting helps with the ID check, and quiet means no interruptions.
That’s it. No printer, no scanner, no trip anywhere. Sessions run on a state-authorized platform, and I’m a Maryland-commissioned notary authorized by the Secretary of State for remote online notarizations.
Then close it with your booking button, same as the others.
